Wat Luang Phor Toh

One of the most impressive temples in the region, Wat Luang Phor Toh was funded entirely by donations, with a particularly large endowment from a Thai actor-turned-monk.

This spectacular temple is surrounded by beautiful gardens with exotic trees, bonsai, flowers, ponds and an artificial lake with a bridge crossing to the main building. Inside this large temple with several buildings and multi-tiered roofs, there is a impressive and huge golden statue representing the revered monk Somdej Toh, which is located under a beautiful golden dome in the main building.

Of the several buildings that make up the temple, the largest wat is also the most ornate, with its multi-tiered roof and golden spires. Inside, visitors will find a giant golden statue of Luang Phor Toh, the venerated monk in whose honor the temple was built. As one of the region’s major temples, weekends and Buddhist holidays see Wat Luang Phor Toh inundated with devotees.
